O.T.A. (Over the Air) Channels for Toronto GTA Area
If you are paying for cable and compare basic
cable with Over the Air (OTA), you got to wonder what you are doing? Living in
the GTA (Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill,
Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Vaughan, Etobicoke, Oakville , Milton and
surrounding areas) and paying for Rogers or Cogeco Cable TV with its inferior
picture quality compared to the new era of Digital TV (DTV) makes absolutely no
sense. Below is a list of TV stations you can receive with off air OTA
broadcasts using superior products like the channel master 4228 HD, 4221 HD, HDTV
OTA antennas. Some of the channels like City TV, Global, CBC, Fox 29, NBC, ABC,
WIVB (Buffalo 4) and many others in dazzling HD. The HD you receive from even
satellite TV is not as good as OTA DTV. This is because the compression that is
used in Satellite TV loses definition unlike OTA HD. Even the standard
definition channels that come over the air are far superior then cable could
ever deliver to your TV. Your TV maybe only HD ready and after paying so much
for your new HD TV you don't have to subscribe to expensive services to see the
most amazing HDTV. Below is the list of channels that are available within
Toronto and the GTA using an Over the air Antenna. This is a general list of the
GTA an OTA list of what is available you can also go to
zap2it link here
type in your postal code and choose the last link local broadcast (antenna). These
listings changes from time to time and below is listed the best you can
get as OTA is very area dependent. For most of the GTA Toronto, Buffalo and
Hamilton towers are pretty easily obtainable using either a channel master
4221HD or a channel Master 4228HD.
Digital Channels (DTV is Standard definition
and HDTV) Note Syracuse and Rochester are very difficult to get in toronto an
are not listed here, they are only repeats of channels like ABC, NBC, CW, FOX,
PBS Rochester is a great alternative to people east of Durham region!
